Supporting children and young people in the classroom

The Moor House Research & Training Institute has increased its range of training designed to help schools and teachers support pupils with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) thanks to the launch of a new online course.

Following on from the success of its  FREE introduction, the new course, ‘DLD – Supporting children and young people in the classroom’, introduces classroom practitioners to ten key strategies that can be used to support pupils with DLD, a condition which presents problems understanding or using spoken language and which affects just over 7% of the population, equating to 2 children in a class or 30.

The course, which can also be booked face to face with trainer Sue Marr for INSET or CPD training, takes approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete, depending on whether you choose to do all the tasks, and can be completed in one session or over several days, with access normally lasting for up to 4 weeks.
