Maintenance Manager

Salary: £34,498-£39,317 pa inclusive, dependent on experience
Position: Full Time
Location: Oxted, Surrey

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to support our busy School and College. You will lead on general maintenance/renovation of the School & College premises and deputise in managing the maintenance team in delivering planned, preventative and reactive maintenance as required.

Duties include:

  • To lead and motivate the maintenance team, ensuring that works are completed around Moor House School & College in an efficient manner and to a very high standard. On occasion, this to be done in consultation with colleagues in order to ensure the student’s individual special needs are being met.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in all departments and with members of external agencies, contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure legal and safety requirements that relate to the maintenance areas are met.
  • The post holder should ideally be from an electrical, carpentry or plumbing background but be competent in delivering aspects relating to other trades and have experience of working in a school/educational environment. 
  • Undertake maintenance work in relation to the School grounds including mowing, movement of School furniture and maintenance of the swimming pool.

Suitable applicants should be skilled in relation to one or more trades; electrical, carpentry or plumbing and with a general competency covering a broad range of maintenance trades. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate effective team management skills including recent experience of directing and supervising others. Computer literacy is a further essential requirement of this role along with a full driving licence. The role can involve some shift work & very occasional weekend work around events.

The role benefits from a generous pay and benefits package which includes a stakeholder pension scheme with staff contributions matched by the School up to a generous capped limit.
