‘The Best DLD Explanation I’ve Heard’

The Moor House Research & Training Institute were thrilled to present on Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and the overlap with literacy difficulties at The Link Live 2023 in March.

Hosted by Speech Link, the online conference drew over 200 education professionals.

Sue Marr, Specialist Teacher at the Institute, spoke about the key areas of language comprehension that children with DLD struggle with, the impact these have on their literacy skills and the key activities and strategies available to support the acquisition of literacy skills for children with DLD.

The talk and subsequent Q&A received some fantastic feedback, with one delegate saying “That was the best DLD explanation I've heard, and I've seen a few", while another said, "Wish I had listened to this before I started working 1:1 with a pupil with DLD, what a great summary of all areas they struggle with and some great tips.”

If you missed The Live Link, an opportunity to catch-up will soon be available via the Speech Link Resources Shop here, whilst you can find DLD resources and information on our training here
