Spoken Word Workshop

On Tuesday 6th May, as part of our cross-curricular theme for this term: Creativity & Expression, all students in Key Stage 2 to year 10, and year 11 drama students, participated in a Spoken Word Workshop delivered by the poet, writer and educator, Christian Foley.

The workshops took place throughout the school day. The students watched Christian’s improvised performances, engaged in them interactively and applauded his speedy tongue twisters. They played superhero and video game bingo along to Christian’s clever freestyles and helped to think of the most challenging words in the English language.

This playfulness around words gave the students a new insight into making language fun and taking spontaneous risks. All the students said they loved the session and would like to learn more about Spoken Word Poetry and Christian’s work.

We hope to welcome him back to Moor House again soon!
