From Moor House to the Movies

As part of a series of inspiring talks in the lead-up to Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day on Friday 17th October, Moor House was delighted to welcome back former student Helen Russell (née Yates) to share her journey into the world of film.
Helen spoke passionately about her path since leaving Moor House and how she has built a successful career as a Set Dec Draughtsperson in the movie industry, doing what she loves every day.
Students were captivated by her portfolio and the impressive list of blockbuster films she’s contributed to, including Wicked, Aladdin, and Enola Holmes 2. Her visit sparked curiosity and excitement, with students eager to ask questions and learn more.
We’re incredibly grateful to Helen for returning to share her story. Her visit was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved with the right support, determination, and belief.
