Moor House School

 Parents Area: Meet the PSA

The Moor House School Parent Staff Association was formed on 4th November 2005.

It is open to any parent or guardian, staff and friends of Moor House School.

The Association

  • aims to enrich the lives of the children at Moor House School by providing an ongoing framework for support and communication between parents, staff and pupils.
  • is responsible for organising fundraising events on behalf of and for the benefit of the whole School community

Support and Communication

As most families are not local to the school, the preferred method of communication between its members tends to be email. PSA registered members benefit from being notified of forthcoming PSA activities and events, and of any other events or information that the PSA believe would be of general interest in the area of specific speech and language. Joining the PSA also provides you with a platform for sharing your views or concerns.

Fundraising

The fundraising sub-committee members include parent representatives across each Key Stage. This formation lends itself towards closer communication between parents and staff. The fundraising team is responsible for organising events which allow everyone the opportunity to meet socially while helping to raise valuable funds that go towards projects which benefit the whole school community.  The team is always looking for old/new ideas and for enthusiastic volunteers. Prior experience is not necessary.

Thanks to PSA fundraising Moor House School was recently able to purchase six new tents for use on the Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. PSA funding also helped to pay for satellite tracking systems which enabled staff to monitor the students progress and maintain safety during the expedition.
