Moor House School Annual Sponsored Walk

What a great day we had on Friday, September 29th 2006, when the staff, students and parents of Moor House School set off on their sponsored walk, to raise money for the Welfare Fund.
Key stage 4 and Year 9s left at about 9.30 am to complete a ten mile walk and the rest of the school left at 10.15 to do a three mile walk. The weather was miserable to start with - rain and wind with a slight chill. But as time went by we found ourselves walking through the muddy puddles in lovely sunshine.

On arrival back at school we had a barbecue waiting in the quad - lots of thanks to the catering staff for organising this. Everyone sat down to sausages, burgers and salad whilst waiting for the rest of the walkers to return.

On the other side of the quad Mrs Ducker was serving cakes and coffee in aid of the 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity which provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support to those affected by cancer. An amazing £125 was raised!

Thanks to all the sponsors and for all the donations for the barbecue. Watch this space to see how much was raised.
