Royal Festival Hall
On 4th June all the year 7 and 8 students and 2MP went to The Royal Festival Hall to see an orchestral concert given by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
The theme of the concert was 'Dance Music'. The students had been studying this area of work in their music lessons in the lead up to the concert. The repertoire that we studied was, Danse Macabre and the West Side Story Musical Suite.
Our students found it fascinating, seeing a live orchestra only a few feet away. It brought everything that they study in the classroom to life. We had superb seats that were almost on the stage!!! The concert culminated in a performance given by the audience. We were invited to sing a song that we had all learnt along with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, The Cossack Song.

The students really enjoyed the concert and they will produce some work on the trip which will be displayed outside the music room in school.
