Polka Theatre trip.
On Wednesday 21st of January, 2ml accompanied by Mrs Marr, Miss Davies and Mrs Nicoll went to the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, to see a production of Pinocchio. The day began early, with us catching the 8.51 from Hurst Green to East Croydon where we boarded a tram. This was a new experience for the boys, who all seemed to enjoy the 30 minute trip.
We arrived by 10am and went to Costa Coffee for a drink and a biscuit before walking down to the theatre. The show was a real treat for all the audience. It was beautifully staged and the cast used a variety of "theatre tricks" to transform what appeared to be "junk" into a range of wonderful props. The shark was a particular hit with the boys! The show was full of humour and energy, perfectly targeted for the age and interest level of the children in the audience.
After an entertaining two hours at the theatre, we went to Pizza Hut, where we enjoyed a buffet lunch. 2ml were perfectly behaved and thoroughly enjoyed their treat. We made the return journey home in good time, arriving back at school at 3pm.
